If you love those Easter Programs presented by a church choir, you can find that here in the Smokies! My personal favorite is the one presented by First Baptist Sevierville. They will be presenting this year’s Cantata on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011 in both morning services, at 8:15 am and 10:45 am. For more information, contact the church office at 865-453-9001.

“Stop by the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Easter Weekend and see our annual Easter Craft Show featuring local artists and craftsmen all at one time, all under one roof. Members of the Arts and Crafts Community sell their art and craft items in a relaxing and convenient setting in the downtown area. You’ll enjoy visiting with the artists and craftsmen, watch as they produce unique one-of-a-kind works of art. Unlike many other craft shows, this one features the local artists and craftsmen from Gatlinburg and it [is] absolutely free. Come by the Convention Center in downtown Gatlinburg and enjoy! After your experience, you’ll want to see more and you can when you visit the 8 mile loop trail located just 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg out Highway 321N or East Parkway. Here you can see over 100 artists and craftsmen throughout the historic area.”

What could be more perfect than celebrating the Risen Lord at sunrise, overlooking the gorgeous Smoky Mountains from the top of Ski Mountain?! Join us at 6:00 am on Easter Sunday, April 24 in the Ober Gatlinburg Parking Lot atop Ski Mountain for an inspirational sunrise service. The Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway will be operating free of charge for all those attending the service, and will pick up passengers downtown at 5:15 am, 5:30 am, and 5:45 am. After the service, Ober Gatlinburg will be serving a beautiful breakfast buffet that includes an omlet station, French toast, breakfast potatoes, sausage gravy, pancakes, bacon, biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, mini muffins, and cinnamon rolls, as well as orange juice, milk, coffee, and tea to drink. The price for adults is $9.95 + tax, and children (10 & under) can enjoy for $5.95 + tax.

Whether you just love Easter services, and could enjoy hitting a second one after the Sunrise Service, or you can’t get yourself to get up that early, but you’d still like to attend an Easter Service, here’s another option for you! I’m sure every church in the area will be holding an Easter Service. Many of them at their normal service times, allowing you to sleep in a bit. Find one that’s right for you. If you don’t know where to start, I would recommend First Baptist Sevierville again! They have a talented church choir and orchestra to lead the music, as well as a dynamic, extremely smart, and captivating preacher. You won’t want to miss it!
