Dollywood Season 2012

Subscribe to A Day In The SmokiesDollywood has been closed for the last couple months for the slow season, and I have been anxiously awaiting its reopening. It’s finally opening again on March 24th! My husband and I got season passes last year that would let us into both Dollywood and Splash Country, allow us unlimited parking and 20% off purchases. We enjoyed it so much, and it was well worth it for the price! This year there are several new things to enjoy!

Spirit of the DanceShows!
Dollywood opens its season with the Festival of Nations! New this year is Spirit of the Dance, “Seen by more than 30 million people around the world and winner of nine Global Awards, including “Best Choreography” and “Best International Production,” the Emerald Isle’s rich heritage is presented in powerful, foot-stomping Irish dance by a troupe of thunderous feet!” Another new show this year, among others, is “The Paper World Show by Mimirichi rip it up as the clowns tear down the giant paper screen and let the audience get involved. From Ukraine, this amazing group transforms something as ordinary as paper into a fascinating show!”

Wild EagleRides!
Wild Eagle– “The first ride of its kind in the U.S., Wild Eagle is perched 21 stories above Dollywood and takes riders on a unique experience that feels as if they are actually soaring high above the Smoky Mountains. Instead of on the track, Wild Eagle seats riders on either side of the track so that there’s nothing but air above and below the rider!”
