Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales is a wonderful summer-long street performances featuring costumed musical performers, storytellers, and artisans portraying time periods as far back as the 1800s. The event highlights the walkability of downtown Gatlinburg and provides guests with interactive, educational, and entertaining experiences.
The festival is already in full swing and will continue through August 10. Events begin at 5pm each evening and as many as 18 preformers entertain passersby until about 10 pm each evening. Visitors will be able to learn how instruments are made by local craftsmen like Denton Bragg and Mark Edelman and they will also see the Back Porch Cloggers demonstrating old time clogging. From Appalachian style Bluegrass groups, to clogging, to storytellers and craftsmen, there is something for everyone!
